Seeds of Love

The mission of Semillas de Amor Children's Village is to provide care, high-level education, and solid futures for Guatemala's at-risk children. In addition to consisting of a home for children who are unable to remain with their families, plans for the children's village include a school, a clinic, and a daycare facility for working mothers. The facility is in the early stages of construction. We are currently seeking donors and volunteers interested in helping make this dream a reality.

The Mascots of Semillas de Amor

We have three dogs at Semillas de Amor. All the dogs go home with my family and me (Nancy Bailey) at night and come back to work in the morning with me. Our dogs, Lily, Bodhi and Gaviota oversee the love and all too often the feeding of the kids. The photos on the blog today are of Bodhi our Tibetan Mastiff puppy. Bodhi is eight months old and is still growing! He is a wonderful boy and the most patient and loving friend to the children at Semillas, no matter what age, as well as my children. Bodhi came all the way from Georgia last April. He was hand picked for us and loved by Audrey and Julie Lee. To see more about Audrey and Julie and their incredible dogs you can go to their website at www.geocities.com/aujudontm

Bodhi is a wonderful guard dog and incredibly loving and gentle and a real clown. He still believes he is a lap dog and loves to lounge on the couch at home while we have to sit on the floor. He is adored both at home and at Semillas de Amor. All of our lives have been enriched by Bodhi.

Dear Nancy,
I am so grateful that Bohdi came to your loving home to be with you and all your kids! A more wonderful home, that is so perfect for him could not have been found, such as yours! :)
Bohdi is able to fullfill the role of countless Tibetan Mastiffs before him...loving and protecting his family and charges.
Thank you Nancy for being such a wonderful home!

Sincerely,
Audrey Lee

Nancy, what a good thing to have the dogs there for the children! Sondra was terrified of our dogs when she first came home, but they are now her constant companions. We love looking at all the photos of the children. God bless.
